Technis Documentation

Welcome to the living reference for the Technis homelab. This site captures the end-to-end GitOps journey—from bare-metal provisioning to the services friends and family use every day. Use it to understand how the platform is shaped, discover operational runbooks, and explore upcoming experiments.

About This Documentation

This documentation is maintained as a living reference, continuously updated as the homelab evolves. It serves multiple purposes:

  • Knowledge Base: Capture configurations, decisions, and lessons learned
  • Operational Runbooks: Document procedures and troubleshooting steps
  • Architecture Reference: Explain the design and rationale behind the infrastructure
  • Experiment Log: Track upcoming and ongoing infrastructure experiments

Technology Stack

The Technis homelab leverages modern infrastructure technologies:

  • Virtualization: Proxmox VE with high-availability clustering
  • Orchestration: Kubernetes for container workload management
  • Storage: Ceph for distributed storage, TrueNAS for NAS services
  • Networking: High-speed connectivity, VLAN segregation and secure remote/external access
  • Monitoring: Gatus for service health monitoring
  • GitOps: Infrastructure and service definitions as code

Getting Started

If you're new to this documentation, start with these key sections:

  1. Infrastructure Overview - Understand the high-level architecture
